Who we are
This website and the Sugarbud family newsletter are run by Sugarbud, a licensed craft cannabis producer in Portland, Oregon. The newsletter covers our brands: Sugarbud, Goodies and Sams Cannabis. In this policy, “we,” “us” and “our” mean Sugarbud.
What we collect
When you sign up for our newsletter, we collect:
- Your email address.
- Your ZIP code.
- Your confirmation that you are 21 or older, and your consent to get our newsletter.
- Technical details our website host records with each signup, such as the date and time you sent the form and your IP address.
We don’t ask for your name, phone number or payment details, and we don’t sell anything on this site. When you confirm you’re 21+ to enter the site, that answer is remembered in your own browser so you aren’t asked every visit; it isn’t sent to us.
Why we collect it
- To send our monthly newsletter: new drops from Sugarbud, Goodies and Sams Cannabis, strain of the month, cannabis news and where to find our flower. About once a month.
- To keep it local and legal: your ZIP code helps us point you to shops near you and keep our newsletter focused on Oregon, where adult-use cannabis is legal.
- To follow age rules: our newsletter is for adults 21 and older only.
Who handles your information
We use a small number of service providers to run the newsletter. They handle your information only to provide their service to us:
- Netlify hosts this website and collects newsletter signups through its form service.
- EmailOctopus, our email service provider, stores our mailing list and sends our newsletters.
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
21 and older only
This site and our newsletter are only for adults 21 and older. If we learn that a signup belongs to someone under 21, we will delete it.
Unsubscribing
You can unsubscribe any time using the unsubscribe link in every email we send, or by emailing sugarbudpdx@gmail.com.
Seeing or deleting your information
To ask what information we have about you, or to have it deleted, email sugarbudpdx@gmail.com. We’ll take care of it and let you know when it’s done.
How long we keep it
We keep your newsletter information until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Then we remove it from our mailing list.
Keeping it safe
This site uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and only the people who run the newsletter can access our mailing list. No way of storing or sending information online is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect yours.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version on this page and update the effective date above. If a change is significant, we’ll mention it in the newsletter.
